6 Lessons I Learned from Strong Men of the Past & Present

Since tomorrow is Father’s Day, I thought it was fitting to reflect on the advice I learned from strong male leaders in the past and present, that I truly respect. I can’t wait to hear if we share positive male influences 🙂

#1 YOU HAVE TO STAND FOR SOMETHING

There are many reasons to admire the great Malcolm X. For me, Malcolm X reminds me that I have to always be strong, determined and principled in life. When you think about it, why wouldn’t you?

#2 INTENTION IS EVERYTHING

Do you know how powerful your mind is? The success and prosperity we want and strive for comes from the inside first. Do you believe you already have that new house? Do you see the wording of the new job offer letter? Jim Carey has made me laugh for more years than I can count. Thankfully, I can say he has also inspired me to remember what is most important when it comes to achieving my dreams.

#3 FALL FORWARD

When we think of failing or rejection, a lot of us cringe with fear. Why? Like Denzel Washington says, if we don’t fail it is as if we didn’t try to do it in the first place. Be bold. Go out there. If you fail, then so be it.

#4 BE PATIENT

Success takes time and patience. For those of you doubters, you will go out into the world and it will be clear that time and patience will be your reality as you work towards your dreams. Thank you, Gary Vaynerchuk, for constantly sharing your gems of what it takes to be explosively powerful and inspirational in this world.

#5 WE HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY

Tupac Shakur will be one of my favorite rappers of all time. I will always miss his energy and spirit that he brought to the industry and our community as a whole. We are all walking and talking sources of inspiration. When we do good for ourselves we also do good for our community. We owe it ourselves and our communities to change this world for the better…no matter what.

#6 FACE YOUR FEARS

Facing our fears is a must. Do you know why? That is when you begin to really live. Will Smith asks us a question that makes so much sense. What are we fearing? If we can move past this feeling, we are able to seize exactly what we want in this world.

I am so grateful for the strong men I have in my life as well as these strong male leaders in our world that provide such insight and knowledge about what it means to live a life of consciousness and success.

As we celebrate the fathers and strong men in our life, let’s challenge ourselves to ensure we take their words of wisdom and implement it into our lives. This is how we can truly honor the great men in our lives.
