“The most effective way to do it, is to do it.”

— Amelia Earhart

Women are stronger together. When we can rise together, we can do anything. This is not only a fact but the theme of the 5th Annual Women On The Rise Forum & Expo. Marsha Guerrier created this 2-day spectacular event for Women Entrepreneurs, Consultants, Coaches, Authors, Career Professional, and Product Makers. The all-access experience included keynotes, panel discussions, masterclasses, celebrity fireside chat, swag bag, small business shops, and a Friday Night Mixer. As one of the facilitators at the event, we were tasked to provide useful strategies, and actionable steps to help women Rise and take their career or business to the next level.

At the conference, I was able to speak on the power of storytelling, the value of leveraging the media for your business, and my personal story of how I became an entrepreneur

After listening to the other speakers and thought leaders at the 5th Annual Women On The Rise Forum & Expo, I was able to reflect on the idea of sisterhood and how women can truly rise together. Let’s discuss it!

#1 Knowledge

It is incredible how much is going on at the same time each day. Sometimes, it can even feel a bit overwhelming.  Guess what? That is fine. According to Oprah, “You can have it all. Just not all at once.” How do you manage what is most important? You must be strategic and purposeful with your life and the decisions you make. If it is important for you to celebrate sisterhood in your life and in your career, then you make a point to seek out events and opportunities that promote women like the 5th Annual Women On The Rise Forum & Expo. #2 Networking

Networking is not something you need to do. It is something you must embrace for personal and professional development and growth. I like to say, “Your net worth is your network.” Networking with women who inspire and motivate you to be the best version of yourself is something we can all achieve. It creates an atmosphere of a sisterhood of empowerment in your home, at work, and everywhere in between.

#3 Asking for Help

If you can read minds, please comment below. I would love to speak with you. Why? Because, most people barely have a handle on what they are thinking, much less anyone else. Women who work together are literally rising together. Making a point to reach out to women to help you with your website, social media creative, speaking engagement, or well being is one of the best ways to put money and support in our community to build unbreakable bonds.

#4 Showing Up

Vera Moore, Founder of Vera Moore Cosmetics, was one of the raved about speakers at the 5th Annual Women On The Rise Forum & Expo because she is a living legend to so many of us. She asked, us to think about what showing up really means.  This is a question we must ask ourselves to determine if we are showing up when it matters most. When we choose to support someone for celebrity instead of substance or refuse to see the value in investing in ourselves, are we even showing up for ourselves? Sisterhood only works if you actively empower yourself first. Showing up for you will enable you to show up for other women. If you haven’t asked yourself this question recently, I encourage you to reflect on how you are showing up for yourself for your personal and professional goals this month?

#5 Build Your Tribe

One of the best ways for you to find your tribe is for you to attend events like 5th Annual Women On The Rise Forum & Expo. Some of the most meaningful women I have met in my life took place at a networking event. There is something truly special about being in a place with like-minded women gathered to share their vulnerabilities, insights, wisdom, and desire authentic stories. After the 5th Annual Women On The Rise Forum & Expo, I left with a feeling of rejuvenation and excitement to build relationships with women thought leaders, apply new lessons learned for my own business, and move forward with a feeling that I have a system of support cheering me on to keep moving forward.

#6 Give Back

Great leaders are ones that build other leaders along the way. The work that I do for my business and the media will make the biggest impact if I teach others how they can do the same. Working with Long Island Girl Talk to teach young girls how to create their own television show is one of the ways I am teaching young women the power of being a content creator. This is how we show the next generation what sisterhood is all about!
