Secret Sauce For Efficiency

word-cloud-659269

Life can be very hectic and busy. When you need to get 50 things done in a day, do you begin to feel the pressure of anxiety and stress rising up. I am here to say NO!

Worrying is very much POINTLESS! If something is meant to happen then guess what? That outcome will occur. Instead of focusing on the what could happen put your energy into working on what you need to do get your goals achieved.

Guess What? There are 5 Easy Steps to finding the peace you need to being Efficient, Effective, and Successful!

Clear out the Noise – How can you focus on 1 thing when you have a million things going on in your mind.  First, you have to breath. Write down or type your agenda for the next two hours, three hours, half day, week, etc. As, you work through the list and check off what needs to be done, everything won’t seem like an insurmountable mountain crushing you.

Do One Thing at a Time –  Do you find yourself trying to do 2, 3, 4, or 5 things at once? I know I do! And, you know what happens – you have several incomplete tasks that ultimately will take longer for you to complete. Call a Spade a Spade. Multitasking is all the rage, but for most of us, the (Keep It Simple Stupid) approach to life works best. Do ONE thing at a time then move onto the next task.

Spend the Time that is Needed – Whether you are writing a book, grading a paper, or building a budget. Every task requires a certain amount of time and brain power. It is best that you give the time it needs to achieve the task. Even if you wanted to get it down in one hour and you are on hour two. Finish the task. Spend the time now instead of going back to the task over and over when you could have closed the matter the first time.

Ask for Help – In second grade, my stern math teacher told me to never be afraid to ask a question. That is advice that I have taken for life! If you need help, you have to save yourself instead of waiting for an artificial superhero coming to your rescue. Google it, ask colleagues, recruit that genius girlfriend of yours, visit a library, or do whatever it takes to get the task accomplished.

Be Grateful for Every Victory – When we have a victory, so many of us forget to do a really important thing. You have to be grateful that you walked the dog, take the kids successfully to school, earn the new promotion, start your business, or whatever else you needed to accomplish. Gratitude is an important step in fully feeling accomplished. Don’t forget this step before moving onto your other smaller and bigger goals.

Very good advice! I totally agree with the "Do one thing at a time" tip! I used to try to multitask everything, and it resulted in a bunch of half-started or messy projects. I do much better when I force myself to finish the task at hand before moving on to the next thing.

I agree that all these things will help you be more efficient!
